Is not showing up to fight a restraining order would be considered willfully surrendering legal child custo?

Do you think not showing up to fight a restraining order would be considered willfully surrendering legal custody of a child in other words, abandonment? My baby's dad left when she was barely a month old to go off and do drugs and party... and i got a restraining order on him for my daughter and I (which he breaks every now and then when he is drunk or high...) And he didn't even come to court to fight it...
