Do you support "Castle" or "Stand Your Ground" laws?

don't know if this will answer you question or not, but i used to work in a gun store. the owner was a prison guard. lots of police would come in the store. what i gleaned from their conversations is the police are not there to protect you. they would prefer to show up after the fact, no chance of getting hurt that way. if you have the misfortune of confronting an intruder, you have the right to defend yourself. but the intruder had better be acting in a menacing fashion and if armed (screwdriver, crowbar, knife, gun, whatever) all the better, and you have to feel your life is in imminent danger. then you can shoot. wound, kill, up to you. but if you confront the intruder and s/he flees you can't shoot. also, you can't pursue them outside and shoot. even said if you do shoot someone outside, drag them back inside. ended the conversation with an adage i've never forgotten: it's better to be judged by twelve, than carried by six.
