Anglo Settlement of North America? Help please?

What were some of the key elements of English settlement in the Southern and the Northern Colonies? Keep in mind that key differences existed among the four subregions: The Chesapeake and the Carolina Plantation Colonies in the South; the New England and Middle Colonies in the North. General differences existed between the Northern Colonies and the Southern Colonies as a whole. Try to define these similarities AND differences in their settlement.
