What would happen if the California state govt. became insolvent and couldn't pay its debts?

I wonder the same. I guess we would need to know who they owe money to figure out the cascading effect that could have. I'd imagine it would be like anything though and Obama will step in and fork over some loot. If not, then all of their welfare people will not getting paid, gov't employees will lose jobs and chaos could ensue.
