Need help getting rid of annoying hum over computer speakers?

The hum is in all probability caused by the 60 cycle A.C. line voltage, and is due to a faulty ground between your computer and speakers. Connect a wire between the frame of your computer and the metal frame of your speaker cabinets or the common side of the speakers, and see if that stops the hum.
