My dog just killed a prairie dog what should I do?

My dog just killed a prairie dog that was in our backyard. I tried to get him to stop but he was obviously fighting with it. I dont think he was bit but he did bite it when he killed it. I am one grossed out but two concerned about dog. Called emergency vet and they said all we have to be concerned with is fleas? Is there anything else. I dont even want to let him in the house now
