PARENTS - Do you approve of...?

When our two were teens, we said they could date someone a year older or a year younger. When they turned 18 and finishing their senior year - we told them no one under 17 - period. Regardless of consent, if a parent decides to take it to court, the 18 year old is at risk for being considered a offender. When we shared all the facts, they both realized dating someone their own age just made more sense. A senior and a freshman - or a 21 and a 17 are in very different places emotionally.
